Horizon Changes
- The first window opens 48 hours after Time of Death.
- Windows are every 6 hours (360 minutes) after that, five in total, and the fifth window is a forced pop.
- This places the spawn between 48 and 72 hours after Time of Death.
- Rages one hour after being claimed.
- Like many NMs on HorizonXI There is a Claim Shield Any action will put you on the "claim" list. once the Claim Shield falls off, a random person will be picked to win the claim.
Notes
- Spawns at one of three locations in Mount Zhayolm:
- Behind the Gates of Halvung at (I-8), opened with a Cast Metal Plate. This is the only spawn point present in era data.
- South, at the edge of (I-10) and (J-10).
- North-west, on the island at (C-6) and (D-6).
- Aggressive and does not link. Detects by True Sound.

- Casts no spells. All of its damage comes from melee and TP moves.
- Melee hits observed up to 450 damage, and it swings fast due to low delay.
- Possesses a slight Auto-Regen.
- Treasure Hunter improves the Algol rate considerably, from 24% to 48% at TH1 and around 64% at TH4.
- Gravity is completely resisted.
- Highly resistant to enfeebling magic. Paralyze, Slow, Blind and Poison land only occasionally, and Absorb spells are resisted. Bard songs land far more reliably.
- Flash and Stun both land readily. All TP moves can be stunned, and it does not build resistance to Stun the way most HNMs do.

- The Blaze Spikes from Magma Hoplon can be removed with Magic Finale, Dispel, Fenrir's Lunar Roar or Aura Steal.
- Gates of Hades has a 20 yalm radius and damages everyone inside it regardless of alliance. Players with no claim on Cerberus standing nearby will be hit. Fire resistance and magic defence both reduce it substantially.
- Gates of Hades has a longer wind-up than its other moves and can be stunned reliably, but it can use a second one immediately after the first is stunned. Three or more dedicated stunners is the usual recommendation.
- A fire resistance set is strongly recommended for the tank and anyone staying in melee range, as Gates of Hades cannot be avoided from there.
- Should be tanked from the front, as Scorching Lash is a rear cone and can kill a tank with shadows down.
- Uses the attacks:
- Lava Spit --- AoE Fire damage. 10 yalm radius.
- Sulfurous Breath --- Frontal cone Fire damage, 7 yalms. Can be absorbed by 1 to 3 shadows.
- Scorching Lash --- Powerful rear cone attack, 20 yalms. Only used when hate is pulled from behind.
- Ululation --- AoE Paralyze. 20 yalm radius.
- Magma Hoplon --- Self-targeted. Grants Cerberus Stoneskin (~1000 damage) plus a potent Blaze Spikes effect. Both can be removed.
- Gates of Hades --- Exceptionally powerful AoE Fire damage with a strong Burn effect (40 HP/tick). 20 yalm radius. Only used at 25% HP and below.
